summertime

One Piece Two Ways

I shared the other day about these shorts from Free Spirit Love Shop. Another piece from that shop, this dress is another great piece for summer. I chose to style it as a dress and a tunic and I would love to hear which style you prefer!

Styled As A Dress:

I paired these gladiator sandals with option one, as a dress. A great casual look for summer that will keep you cool yet stylish. These cute sandals are ON SALE for just $20! {If you are in between sizes, consider ordering up a size.} When you have a colorful frock like this one you don’t need tons of accessories. Because I am a jewelry maker I of course HAVE to add some for flair. These bold bangles make a statement and it is the only jewelry you need. I went with bold colors like turquoise, purple and a neutral one in grey. Perfect!

Styled As A Tunic:

Maybe you are on the taller side and can’t ever seem to find dresses that are appropriate length or maybe you just love the option of a tunic/dresss, either way this piece is great both ways. These jeans are from H&M and a new favorite of mine. I love the unfinished hemline, the wash, and the under $50 pricetag! I paired here with a wedge, these grey Antelope wedges are my go-to wedge lately because the color goes with EVERYTHING and I love how comfortable they are. I bought these at a local boutique here in Louisville but found in stock at Belk.

Which style is your favorite?

Ruffle Embroidery Shorts

I am heading to the beach in a few weeks so I’ve been keeping my eye out for easy outfits like these that are great for the road-trip, day at the beach, or a hot summer night eating (yummy) seafood.

When I saw these shorts from Free Spirit Love Shop I knew they would fit right in for my beach trip wear. They are fully lined, long enough for my liking – longer in the back is always a bonus for me, and they are super comfortable. The embroidery waistband adds a little touch that is a perfect contrast to the ruffle hem. I plan on wearing these over my new black swimsuit and wearing them again with a simple top and lots of jewels (duh). An extra bonus? These cute shorts are only $16!!!! What????

Happy Summer!!

Casual Neutrals

If you know me you know I love wearing neutrals (I’m sure you couldn’t tell from the post yesterday where I was wearing all the colors). Truthfully, I buy neutral colors because I will wear them over and over again without feeling tired of the look or bored with the same pieces. These jeans are from last year but I’ve seen many similar styles on the racks this year. H&M never disappoints and what I like most about the destroyed jeans is the thick denim (unlike most white jeans I find).

Last week I road tripped to Auburn where I immediately took myself straight to NK Boho Boutique. I picked up several things but this cream waffle tank caught my eye-and I knew I had to have! I also scored these OTBT inspired wedges at an awesome price from Ellie {Tuscaloosa}. They are so comfortable and I have worn them so many times already! Defintely a summer staple. One of my all time favorite bralettes this year is from Victoria’s Secret and I love the contrast with this new top.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!! I am so excited for SUNSHINE!
